Madina
began operations in 1997 in then upcoming Salwa Industrial area,
Doha. The company’s growth warranted shifting fabrication facilities
from Street 31 to more available space in Street 44. In 1998, with
increased business demand, the inspection facility was branched off
as a separate company in Qatar Inspection Services. The workshop
functional from 1999 added more capabilities and infrastructure with
time. QIS also earned the ISO: 9002certification in the same year,
being the first company to do so in Qatar.
In the year 2000, Madina Group qualified for the ISO: 9002 approvals
followed by the ASME certification in 2002, these approvals are
testimony to the quality and methods practiced by the group. With
safety and emergency management gaining importance, Qatar
International Safety Center was formed in 2003.The most modern and
updated training center even to this day, QISC facilities still ranks high
in international recognitions available in the Middle East.QISC was
the first to get OPITO approvals in the country and is with the
highest stamp approvals from this body the world over making it one
of the best training centers in Qatar. In 2002, QIS became one of
the earliest
company to carry out NDT tests and certifications with the
sanction and approval of Supreme Council for Environment and Natural
Reserves.
The group’s client base was increasing with the good reputation the
companies had built over the period of time. The workshop was also
being constantly upgraded and new workshop facilities added on with
in the yard in Street 45 opened in 2004.The last company to become
fully operational under Madina Group is Severn Glocon Qatar-the
local arm of Severn Glocon, UK in 2005. The group was further
awarded with ISO: 9001 certifications in 2006 and are in the process
of qualifying for the OSHAS: 18001 and for ISO: 14001
Presently, unique to Madina facilities are the exotic material
fabrication yard, pickling and passivation of exotic materials,
X-Ray Radiation protected bunker. QIS also has its own mobile
radiation room available for on site inspection and certification
related work. |
